If you’re wondering why everyone has been carrying on about plastic lately, we’re here to let you in on the secret. It’s because it’s Plastic Free July - the perfect time to do a little check and see if there are any ways you could reduce the amount of single use plastic in your life.
And it just so happens that we’re all over this plastic free business. As of this month we’re officially going plastic free and no longer selling our bioplastic jars.
(You might see a few of them around in some of our stockists and please do purchase them because even though they’re plastic they are made from sugarcane and it’s better to use them and recycle them rather than waste them!).
This means that we’re now stocking our:
-
flashy new 100% recyclable 60g tins(these have replaced our older 40g tins), and our
-
fabulous biodegradable cardboard deodorant sticks
We're not perfect, but we're working on it
If you’ve been following Woohoo for a while you’ll know we’re all about full transparency so we want to let you know that there is still a teensy bit of plastic here at Woohoo HQ as we are still using stickers on the lids of our sample sized tins.
We’re phasing this out as soon as we run out of labels, but we couldn’t bear the idea of throwing them away and creating unnecessary waste. Very soon we’ll be printing directly onto our tins, making Woohoo 100% plastic free. Hurrah!
Thoughtful shipping
And of course - as always - we pack your orders without using plastic too. We use cardboard boxes, biodegradable fill made from starch, and paper-based tape with earth-friendly adhesive.
Before we go we want to give a shout out to the inspiring crew atFlora and Faunawho have launched the Take It Back campaign - celebrating retailers who are saying no to plastic packaging. You’ll be seeing us pop up on theirInstagramsoon 💙.
P.S. Going plastic free is HARD so don't stress if you're not perfect. It's all about progress, not perfection! There's no judgement here - because we know that a million people making small changes is far better than 1 perfect person.
Have a fabulous day, Woohoo-ers!
