As much as we adore the best selling cult favourite Cloud 9 Deep Cleansing Balm, it’s not always the best choice for when you are in a hurry (yes, we do listen to every teeny tiny bit of feedback you send in!). 

We thought about changing the Cloud 9 Deep Cleansing Balm formula, but there are so many people who would go bananas at us if we up and changed the Cloud 9, so instead we created the 3 Cheers Cleansing Oil :)

The 3 Cheers Cleansing Oil has magical powers that allow it to cleanse using the oil cleansing method, but rinse off easily [amazed gasp!]. When mixed with water it turns milky and washes away effortlessly, taking all of the makeup, excess oil, and daily grime with it.

It’s lighter and a bit easier to use than the Cloud 9 Deep Cleansing Balm, and has the massive bonus of being super-duper shower friendly too.

The 3 Cheers Cleansing Oil ticks all of our other boxes as well – it’s 100% natural, Australian Made (by us, here in Newcastle), Vegan and Cruelty Free.

But what's the oil cleansing method?

Glad you asked. You may not realise but over-washing (and the subsequent drying) of your skin can trigger big problems. Oily skin becomes oiler increasing breakouts and dry skin becomes drier making it look older and more susceptible to other issues. So you need a way of cleansing that's gentle to your skin and doesn't strip away its natural oils (sebum).

That's why we turn to the oil cleansing method. It works because oils dissolve oils. The 3 Cheers Cleansing Oil is massaged into your skin and it melts away all of the oily impurities that have built up  - like dirt, grime, oxidised sebum (blackheads), and makeup. Then with a bit of special skincare magic, you can wash the oil away leaving behind soft and hydrated skin.

This means there's no need for soaps, gel cleansers or foaming cleansers that can leave your skin feeling dry and tight. Hooray!

“How did you do it!?” we hear you ask.

Well … Firstly we had to go to Hogwarts School of Wizardry and graduate the potions class. Oh wait. That’s Harry Potter. Aaron does wear glasses though, so it’s an easy mistake to make. ;)

There was no real magic involved but the 3 Cheers cleansing oil is pretty special because it's what we call "self emulsifying". Which is scientific magic!

Here’s how it happens:

1. You smooth luscious oil over your face and neck, dissolving dirt, grime and makeup
2. Magic … You wet your face and as the oil mixes with water it turns creamy (it emulsifies, meaning the water and oil stick to each other)
3. You effortlessly wash away the creamy emulsion leaving your skin feeling fresh and revitalised.

So it’s just as easy to use as a water-based gel or foaming cleanser except it doesn’t upset your acid mantle by stripping your skin of its natural oils. Instead of being left with squeaky, dry, tight skin you are left with clean, hydrated and soft skin.
